This page explains how I collect, use, and protect personal data when you visit LifeInMotion or send me a message. I run this site as a personal blog from Singapore, and I aim to comply with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) and its subsidiary rules. If anything here is unclear, email [email protected] before you submit data you are unsure about.

What this site is (and is not)
LifeInMotion is a static personal journal with a contact form. I do not operate user accounts, paid subscriptions, e-commerce checkout, forums, or comment threads. That limits the categories of data I handle, but it does not remove my obligations when you choose to contact me or when your browser sends technical information to my hosting provider.
Data I collect and why
Contact form. When you submit the form on contact.php, I receive your name, email address, message text, and a timestamp generated on the server in Asia/Singapore time. I use this information only to read and reply to your enquiry. There is no mailing list on this site — your note lands in my inbox and stays there unless you ask me to remove it. I do not sell or rent contact details to third parties.
Consent checkbox. The form requires you to tick a consent box referencing this privacy note before submission. That checkbox is not pre-selected. If you do not consent, do not submit the form; use email directly instead if you prefer a different arrangement.
Honeypot field. The form includes a hidden field named "website" that legitimate browsers should leave empty. Automated bots often fill every field; those submissions are discarded without being stored or emailed. I mention this so you know why the field exists and so you do not attempt to complete it.
Server and access logs. My web host may record standard technical data when you request a page: IP address, browser user-agent string, referring URL, request time, and HTTP status codes. I use these logs to keep the site secure, diagnose broken links, and understand aggregate traffic patterns. I do not merge server logs with contact form content to build marketing profiles.
Cookies and similar storage. The site sets a cookie named lim_cookie_consent when you interact with the cookie banner handled by /js/main.js. Values may be all (accept analytics-related cookies) or essential (reject non-essential cookies). The consent cookie expires after approximately six months unless you clear it sooner. Until you choose, the banner remains visible on each visit.
If you accept analytics cookies and I enable a lightweight analytics tool in future, that tool may set its own first-party cookies or use local storage to distinguish returning visits. I will update this page before turning on any analytics provider, naming the provider and describing opt-out steps. As of 15 July 2026, the banner logic exists but no third-party analytics script is embedded in page templates.
Legal bases under the PDPA
For contact messages, I rely on your consent given via the checkbox at the point of collection. For server logs and essential cookies required to deliver pages securely, I rely on legitimate interests in operating and protecting a small personal website, balanced against your reasonable expectations when visiting a public blog. You may withdraw consent for contact handling by asking me to delete your message thread; withdrawal does not affect processing already completed before your request.
Who receives your data
Contact submissions are emailed to my private inbox at [email protected] for delivery convenience. That means Proton AG processes the message in transit under its own privacy policy. My web hosting provider stores site files and may process server logs on servers located outside Singapore depending on their infrastructure. I choose providers with published security practices, but no online transmission is perfectly risk-free.
I do not share personal data with advertisers, data brokers, or social media platforms in exchange for payment or services. If I link to an external site — for example a map or official transport page — their collection practices apply once you leave lifeinmotion.pro.
Retention periods
Contact emails are kept only as long as needed to respond and maintain a reasonable record of correspondence, typically no longer than twenty-four months unless the conversation is ongoing or a legal issue requires longer retention. Server logs rotate on a schedule determined by the host, often thirty to ninety days. Cookie consent values persist for six months on your device unless you delete them.
Security measures
I use HTTPS for pages on the production domain, keep software updated on the host where possible, and restrict administrative access to myself. The contact form rejects non-POST requests at send.php and validates basic fields before sending mail. No method is foolproof; please avoid sending sensitive identifiers (NRIC numbers, full payment card details, medical records) through the form or email.
Your rights
Under the PDPA you may request access to personal data I hold about you, ask for corrections if information is inaccurate, withdraw consent where processing is consent-based, and request deletion when I no longer have a legal or legitimate need to retain it. To exercise these rights, email [email protected] with enough detail for me to locate your record. I will respond within a reasonable period, typically within thirty days.
If you believe I have handled your data improperly, you may contact the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) in Singapore after giving me a chance to address your concern directly.
Children
This blog is written for a general adult audience. I do not knowingly collect personal data from children under thirteen. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child submitted the contact form, write to me and I will delete the submission.
International visitors
The site is published from Singapore and references Singapore law. If you access it from another country, your data may be transferred to or stored in jurisdictions with different rules. By submitting the contact form you acknowledge that transfer may occur solely for the purpose of responding to you.
Changes to this note
I may update this page when I add features, change hosting, or when law or guidance changes. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when edits are material. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acknowledgement of the revised note for new activity; it does not retroactively change the basis on which I already processed data.
